Ok I got a job at a dept store on a military base. I work with expensive jewelry, designer purses, and expensive perfume, sunglasses…etc. I work here for 3 weeks. I know that they have been watching me too see if I can work good and stuff. Well I was cleaning the fake jewelery and I took a back to a earrings and put it on. I lost min earlier there working. Well the head of security called me and told me that she say me take it.
then we filled out a report of everything she mentioned and she told me to sign it. I told her that i am not theft and i didn;t mean to take it. I was thinking it was a big deal. Well I guess it is to her. So after we filled all the paper work out, she said i could go back to work. I ask what is going to happen to me and she couldn’t tell me, So I just quit, right then and there. My husband is in Kuwait. Do you think they are going to make a big deal about this stupid incident? It was dumb i kno.

An earing back, well, that seems a bit extreme, but they could still charge you with theft…. It depends, it may have been enough that you quit….I wouldn’t call and check into it. Let well enough alone and then wait and see.

Since you quit probably not however you need to learn something from this. Anything no matter how small if it is not yours and you take it it is stealing. You may have trouble finding another job though. Stick to Mcdonald’s.

It is a big deal , even if it was just the back of an earring …..But , if you quit, they probably will not pursue it.

No, if they made you sign something then it was just a verbal warning. They were not going to fire you. If they were going to fire you the mp’s would have come and escorted you off the base. That was quite stupid for quitting.

Go back an explain that you lost the back of your earing earlier and took one to keep from losing the rest of it. Pay for the backing and applogize for any problems it may have caused. You may not work there or use them as a future reference. But when you look back on the situation over time you’ll know you did the right thing.
